Buying a Barbell? Here's what to look for
When purchasing an Olympic barbell, you should pay close attention to the following points. The barbells come in two different sizes and weights. Therefore, before ordering a barbell, make sure to carefully consider which one best suits your needs. Our barbells, with excellent bearings, are particularly suitable for all lifts involved in Olympic weightlifting.
Barbell 20 KG
Our 20 kg Olympic barbell is designed for serious strength training. It is the heaviest and largest in our range, with a handle diameter of 32 mm. This makes it large enough for the average man's hand, hence why the 20 kg barbell is also known as a men's barbell. The length of the bar is 220 cm with 42 cm loadable sleeves on each side. The barbell can handle a weight of 680 kg, making it perfect for setting world record deadlifts (501 kg).
Barbell 15 KG
The Olympic 15 kg barbell from Matchu Sports is ideal for strong women. With a handle diameter of 28 mm, it is perfect for women's hands, hence why it is also called a women's barbell or lady barbell. The length of the barbell is 200 cm with 32 cm loadable sleeves on each side. With a maximum load of 450 kg, you can set quite a few personal lifting records with this barbell.
Barbell Clasps
Our barbell clasps, also known as barbell collars, go perfectly with our Olympic barbells. The collars ensure that your plates do not shift and remain securely in place. Matchu Sports collars fit on any Olympic barbell and are made of sturdy material, able to withstand impact. Their black color also gives them a rugged look.
Barbell Pad
A pad, also known as a squat sponge, is essential for doing squats. Placing the bar pad in the center of your barbell provides cushioning for your neck during workouts. The Matchu Sports squat sponge is made of soft and flexible material, easy to clean. The squat sponge is 35 cm wide with a diameter of 7 cm, fitting all Olympic barbells.
Weights are essential to complete your barbell set. We also offer
weight plates, such as bumper plates and fractional plates. These plates all have a 50 mm hole and fit perfectly on our Olympic barbells. The matching plates are therefore also called Olympic weight plates. With our wide selection of weights, there are always plates that best suit your needs.
