Connective tissue massage
Massage with a lacrosse ball is a form of self-myofascial release. Fascia is another name for the thin layer of connective tissue that covers all muscles and organs. Connective tissue is responsible for the connections between all muscle groups and can cause pain and reduced mobility when it becomes stuck together. The goal of myofascial therapy is to release and stretch this connective tissue, allowing it to move freely.
Lacrosse ball exercises
It is important to consider the high hardness of the ball. It is also important to educate yourself on how self-massage works. It’s not just about rolling back and forth, but about finding the trigger points and applying pressure to them. It’s actually similar to foam rolling. You can read more about this on the exercises page.
